Volum Ovo

We (Greg and Kevin) met in 1990.
Kevin: Greg made me want to start making music. He turned me on to alternative/punk bands, and we translated our teenage energy into some progressively good music.

Greg:Nothing else made sense. It was Mtv's fault.

Kevin: Volum Ovo is about Heavy Poetry supported by even heavier (deep) and original melodies, to make a 3:30+ minute pop song. We sing about surrealism and it's implications on the waking world.
In terms of evolution, we have lived, learned, and pulled music from those challenges we've overcame.

Greg: Form, Power, Melody and Lyrical content. (Evolution) ...tough question.

Kevin: I would collaborate with Mark E. Smith (The Fall), Perry Ferrell (Jane's Addiction), Iggy Pop, Peter Murphy...Love and Rockets. Because they've all created strange and beautiful music.

Greg: No one but the person I'm collaborating with

Kevin: Our biggest challenge has been A) living in different towns at times, which makes for tricky scheduling, and B) enrolling drummers/bassists in our vision and dream. In a sense we have overcome that issue as we have ever-developing solutions to filling in those positions.

Greg: Yes. Agreed.

Kevin: I hope to be recognized by a legitimate label who will assist us in the release and production of our catalog of music, as well as support us as we tour. From this exposure, we then take our rightful place among those great, obscure bands who happen to have loyal fans worldwide.

Greg: To touch people who are supposed to be touched by it. And to not live on the streets. For it to be my main job. I don't intend to be "rich", but it's a gift. For those who can handle it.
