Shani Shousterman is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles. After starting her musical journey as a classical pianist, she joined her high school jazz band and went on to study jazz piano performance at USC's Thornton School of Music. She slowly developed an unexplainable desire to write music and lyrics, and decided to use her bluesy/jazz influences to develop this passion. Though her audience deems her music as "a twist on but similar to the styles of Sara Barreilles, Regina Spektor, and Norah Jones”, she still produces an organic, unique, and fresh voice as a singer/songwriter.
In her new EP "Warm Rain", Shani sings about heartfelt experiences; of friendships, heart-break, passions, and about how life sometimes is just a little bittersweet. This album comes directly from the soul--recorded and edited by her on her MacBook. It is available on iTunes, rhapsody, amazon, and cdbaby.com.
Shani is now discovering herself and her music through pursuing a Music Education graduate degree at USC. She has performed as far away as Israel and as locally as Hollywood; she continues to do so while passing on her experiences and knowledge to other aspiring musicians.
