Erin Ivey — Austin, TX
Genre: Folk / Pop
Artist Profile
Name: Erin Ivey
Label:
Location: Austin TX
Biography:
Erin Ivey is Austin's mistress of urban folk. She was named one of the city's Top 4 Unsigned Artists in 2007. With an angelic voice and notorious stage banter, she makes "sweet folk pop reminiscent of Soko and Yael Naim" (Perez Hilton).
Her latest release, the Sweet Little EP, is dipped in operatic and country-western influences, but completely centered around the voice that prompted one journalist to write "I would kill for a purr like that" (Luciana Lopez, The Oregonian).
Based in Austin, Texas, Erin was one of 10 musicians sponsored by Red Bull to attend the 2005 Dallas Music Lab. In '06, she moved to the Midwest for a year to record demos. Since 2007, Erin has eschewed cubicle life forever, independently releasing and touring behind her first full-length album (The 11th Floor) and two EPs (Austin Lullabies and the Sweet Little EP).
