  • Open up your MadeLoud Store Front - Start offering your fans merch direct, with no middlemen to eat up your funds! You can offer promotions and discounts with your merch to increase your sales. read somewhere for more information, top merch on homepage?

  • Upload artist pictures and videos
  • Blog - Keep your fans posted on what's coming next! Make note of the fans that are interacting with you here and consider offering them and their friends special promotions for spreading the word!
  • Artist Stats - See if your shows are bringing in people to your page or try out MadeLoud promotions and see if sales increase. You can also view to see who's checking your music out; girls/guys, young/old, genre, location.
  • MadeLoud Community - Make MadeLoud.com the one place where all your fans can come, interact and get the best deals on your music (and where you can get the best deal on your music as well!). Hang out at MadeLoud.com and find the fans that you've been waiting to meet!

If you ever want to change your account email address, PayPal address, name of your band, or the genre of music that you play (we'll be adding more in soon!) you can edit this at any time. Just press on "edit account" underneath your profile picture.

Artist Promotions

MadeLoud wants to give independent artists more freedom and control of their music and sales. We also want to help them give their new and old fans incentives to come out and support them!

Promo Codes - One of the features of MadeLoud Promotions is the Coupon: by one get one free (of equal or lesser value). Enter the code in at checkout and receive the offer!

Discounts - Discounts work just like the promo code. Enter them in at checkout and save.

Each artist gets to decide the value of the promo code, how many fans get to use them, percent discount and how long it lasts. Since most people don't carry cash around anymore, MadeLoud Artist Promotions can help you still make sales even after the show. Plus our homepage features the best of promotions on the site to bring in new fans.

Examples of use:

  • Offer 15% off your newest cd when fans go back to your MadeLoud site the week following your show.
  • Give the first 100 fans a buy one get one free offer after your record release party, or while you're on tour.
  • Be creative!

Why doesn't my promo code work?

First make sure you've entered the code in correctly. Some other reasons may be that the promo code was for a limited time only, or had a limit to how many fans could take advantage of the offer (like "first 100 fans get the discount").

Home Page Featured

How are these selected?
Featured Artists and Merchandise are selected by us. We feel these bands and their merch are deserving of some sweet spotlight-age.

Premium Artists on the Homepage are random links to our many premium account artists. We don't have a say in this part of the homepage.

Features are changed every couple days, although don't hold us to it.

Who can get here?
Premium Artists are eligible to be featured on our homepage. Other than for the random "Premium Artists" section of our homepage, we look at each artist's page and make sure there's a lot of cool stuff for fans to look at. Sorry, even if you've got great music, if you don't have any up-to-date information on your band, tours, albums, tabs, lyrics; we're probably not going to pick you here. We want to make sure that there will be plenty for fans to look at, read, etc. when they click on the link to your site.

MadeLoud Merch

We sell our own merch too! Yeehaw!

We offer purchase protection on our own items. This covers lost shipments, wrong sizes and damaged goods.

Measuring Instructions

So you've found some great merch, but don't know what size you are? Here are some measuring instructions and typical size measurements to help you on your way!

Chest/bust- Raise your arms slightly and measure around the fullest part of your chest/bust, keeping the tape parallel to the ground.
Small - 34" - 36" chest
Medium - 38"- 40"
Large - 42"- 44"
X-Large - 46" - 48"
2X-Large - 50" - 52"
3X-Large - 54" - 56"

Waist - Measure around your waist where your pants usually fall. Keep one finger between the tape and your body to ensure an accurate fit.

Sleeve- Place your hand on your hip with your arm bent at a 90 degree angle. Measure from the middle of the back of your neck, across your shoulder and down your arm to your wrist.

Length- Find a t-shirt that fits you. Measure from the center of the back collar of your favorite t-shirt to the end of the shirt, this your desired length.

Since all sales are final, please be sure to email the artist (seller) with any questions you may have before purchasing.

Media - Formats and Requirements

Songs - We recommend you upload songs at a bitrate of 128kbps and a frequency of 44kHz. Uploads must be smaller than 20MB. Free artist accounts allow for 5 upload slots. Unlimited slots may be purchased for a one-time fee of $35.

When a fan previews a song that is for sale, they will only hear the first 45 seconds of the song. Once they have purchased a song, they will be able to hear the full-length audio. Full length tracks can only be previewed when they are offered for free by the artist.

Ringtones - Same as song recommendations. The first 45 seconds of a song is made into the ringtone.

Pictures - Fans may upload 30 pictures. Artists have an unlimited option for pictures. Each picture should be under 2mb.

Keep pictures devoted solely to music related things or events. We don't need to see pictures of your puppy "Foofoo" but we might want to see your little "Foofoo" dressed up as Eddie Van Halen for Halloween?!

Videos - Artists have the ability to upload videos to their account. Put in the embed code and your done. Just make sure they are under 100MB.

Member Created Content opinions (blog, discussion boards, reviews)

MadeLoud wants fans and artists to express and share their love of music. Write your own album reviews, post blogs, comment on your favorite artist's site.

Merch: Autographs

We think it's a cool idea to be able to offer fans autographed merch. We have a few rules though:

  • Make sure it's your own signature that is being offered.
  • Never sell other people's autographed merch either; that's what eBay is for.
  • Offer items at a reasonable price. Yes, you may be a rock star and it's your signature up for grabs; but seriously.

Order errors or Shipment not received

While errors in your order may occur, please don't panic. Solutions to most of your problems can be easily had. Artists want to keep their fans just that!

Remember, all sales are final. MadeLoud considers each sale as a legally binding contract between the artist and fan. Each party is responsible for timely shipment of item and payment for item purchased (respectively).

Order discrepancies that are the fan's fault are not the responsibility of the artist to fix, but mutually agreeable solutions may be possible by emailing the artist you purchased from.

Never assume that the artist is being deceptive and never use derogatory language when trying to resolve an issue. Good communication, involving patience and understanding, will lead to a mutually agreeable resolution. Accidents happen, and so do solutions.

Please follow these steps to help resolve order errors. All issues must be addressed between 10 and 60 days after initial purchase.

Step 1 - After thoroughly examining your item, check over your email and shipping confirmation. Make a list of any discrepancy you see between what you received and what you ordered.

Step 2 - On the "Orders" tab on your MadeLoud account click "receipt" next to the order in which the error occurred. On the upper right-hand corner of the receipt press, "Dispute Order".

Step 3 - Next to "Dispute Claim" press on the topic that best describes your situation. Then detail the discrepancy you experienced with your order below and press "Submit". This will be sent to the Artist you purchased your merch from.

Step 4 - Once the artist has read and processed your order dispute, discuss possible outcomes that would best resolve the situation with them. For instance, if the record you received was broken ask them if you could be sent another. Also discuss alternative shipping options which may better safe-guard the item. If the artist sent you the wrong size T-Shirt, ask to see if you can exchange the one you received for the original size you ordered. Compensation for additional shipping charges must be mutually agreed upon by the fan and artist.

Most issues can be resolved with this type of communication.

If you have not received your item after 10 days, please follow these steps. All issues must be addressed between 10 and 60 days after initial purchase.
The amount of time it takes to receive your item depends on the shipping method you chose upon purchase. Review your email and shipping confirmations if you have any questions.

Step 1 - Make sure the address and other contact information in your MadeLoud account is accurate.

If it is correct, check to see the status of your item online. You should also check the spam filters on your email account to see if they have been blocking emails from MadeLoud.com or the artist.

Step 2 - Send the artist a message on MadeLoud with your questions, issues and/or concerns. Please try messaging the artist first before filing a "dispute order."

On the "Orders" tab on your MadeLoud account click "receipt" next to the order in which the error occurred. On the upper right-hand corner of the receipt press, "Dispute Order".

Step 3 - Next to "Dispute Claim" press on "Merchandise Never Received". Then detail your purchase, including date of purchase.

Step 4 - Once the artist has read and processed your order dispute, discuss possible outcomes that would best resolve the situation with the artist.

Most issues can be resolved with this type of communication.

Order errors or Shipment not received for Artists
Remember, all sales are final. MadeLoud considers each sale as a legally binding contract between the artist and fan. Each party is responsible for timely shipment of item and payment for item purchased (respectively).

If there is an order error, a fan can submit an "order dispute." Once this happens, an email will be sent to your MadeLoud account notifying you of the issue. Please follow these steps to help resolve order errors. All issues must be addressed between 10 and 60 days after initial purchase.

Never assume that a fan is being deceptive and never use derogatory language when trying to resolve an issue. Good communication, involving patience and understanding, will lead to a mutually agreeable resolution. Accidents happen, and so do solutions.

Your main priority should be to create a positive outcome for both you and the fan. Order discrepancies that are the fan's fault are not the responsibility of the artist to fix, though, helping your fan get the right merch will keep them coming back for more. Order discrepancies that are the artist's fault must be worked out to fulfill MadeLoud Policy.

Step 1 - After receiving an order dispute to your MadeLoud email account, check over the discrepancy described by the fan with the information in the "store" section of your account. Check over order sizes, amounts, and any other shipping details chosen by the fan.

Step 2 - Once you have reviewed the order dispute, pinpoint the problem, come up with a few ideas on how the issue can be resolved, and contact the fan. This should be done in a timely manner; we recommend getting back to them within 10 days upon receiving the dispute.

Step 3 - In the email to your fan, first acknowledge the issue at hand. Next, depending on where the error occurred, start detailing possible outcomes that would best resolve the situation. Discuss alternative shipping options if damaged items were received. Compensation for additional shipping charges must be mutually agreed upon by the fan and artist.

Most issues can be resolved with this type of communication.

If a fan has not received your item after 10 days, please follow these steps. All issues must be addressed between 10 and 60 days after initial purchase.

Step 1 - Look over your shipping confirmation and make sure the address you filled in is accurate.

Step 2 - If all other shipping information is correct, check the status of your item online, or contact the carrier you used (using the information on your receipt).

Step 3 - Contact your fan to discuss ways in which you can resolve the issue.

Most issues can be resolved with this type of communication.

Then

If you forget it

If you happen to forget your MadeLoud Password, here are the steps you can take to retrieve it and continue exploring for great new music on the site.

On the top right corner of the MadeLoud homepage there are two entry fields for your username and password. Underneath the field for "username", press "forgot login". Follow the steps and you should be back on your way.

PayPal

One of the first things you will need to do in order to use MadeLoud's store, is set up a PayPal account if you don't already have one.

Fans - In order to buy mp3s and merchandise on made loud, fans will need to set up a Personal PayPal account. PayPal allows you to send and receive payments quickly and securely online using a credit card or bank account. You can also check the status of your payment and review your own payment history.

Artists - Artists will need a Personal PayPal account in order to sell (or buy) mp3s and merchandise. Artists do not need Premier or Business PayPal accounts to sell their products since all money transactions will go through MadeLoud's account in order to ensure fairness and efficiency.

  • Sales - MadeLoud provides artists with the convenience of selling digital content and physical merch all through a single site. Artists who sell their products on MadeLoud will have the money they make transferred into their PayPal account every time their sales reach 25 dollars. montly basis
  • MP3s Selling mp3s on MadeLoud couldn't be more simple. All an artist must do is upload mp3 files of their songs and set their prices. Songs can be sold (or offered for free) as individual tracks or they can be grouped into digital albums. When grouping songs into an album, the artist should first create and name the album, and then upload the songs into that album. Either way, the artist is responsible for the quality and price of their mp3s.
  • Physical Merchandise - An artist who wishes to sell physical merch like T-shirts or Posters on MadeLoud must be willing to take on the responsibilities required to do so. Selling merch through MadeLoud is similar to selling items on eBay; the artist is responsible for shipping the items they've sold undamaged and in a timely manner. Shipping tracking numbers must be entered into every order, and MadeLoud will only pay artists after shipping has commenced. Prices are set by the artist, and include shipping costs, so a small amount of research is a must before any item is put up for sale in the MadeLoud store.

Please check over the shipping address in your account to make sure your merchandise order will be processed correctly and in a timely manner.

All sales are final. If you find that there is a discrepancy in your order, please read the Order errors or Shipment not received section of this A-Z. Order discrepancies that are the fan's fault are not the responsibility of the artist to fix, but mutually agreeable solutions may be possible by emailing the artist you purchased from.

MadeLoud considers each sale as a legally binding contract between the artist and fan. Each party is responsible for timely shipment of item and payment for item purchased (respectively).

MadeLoud cannot mediate between artist and fan, or force payment since we are not directly involved in any transactions.

If you have purchased an exclusive MadeLoud TM item, please read the MadeLoud Merch section of this A-Z.

      Shipping Instructions and Tips

Packaging Tips - When shipping items, choose light-weight packaging materials(like bubble wrap) to keep shipping costs low. Plastic shopping bags, as compared to newspaper, are also a great filler because they weigh less. Ask local vendors for their shipping "peanuts" or extra cardboard boxes which most of them discard on a daily basis (and save some money!!).

CDs and Records - Don't let your fan receive a cd or lp with a cracked case, disc, or dented corners. Make sure items are not able to shift around in their packaging, are wrapped in a light weight protective material, and are taped securely. Always choose cardboard over a padded mailer. Make sure records are kept in their inner sleeve but removed from its cover to prevent seam splits. Sandwhiching a record between two pieces of cardboard slightly larger than the lp and then taped together can also work well. If your fan chooses Priority Mail, the postal service offers a free box well suited for these items.

Apparel - This shouldn't be too difficult.

Address Package Correctly - Save yourself the hassle of having an order error. Check and double-check all addresses you use with the information in the order management section of your MadeLoud site. If you have any questions, contact the fan directly.

Thanks - Tell your fan how much you appreciate their support! Add in a note, sticker or some other item inside the package to show your "thanks."

Uploading and Selling Music and Merchandise

Songs - We recommend you upload songs at a bitrate of 128kbps and a frequency of 44kHz. Uploads must be smaller than 20MB.

Free artist accounts allow for 5 upload slots. Unlimited slots may be purchased for a one-time fee of $35.

When a fan previews a song that is for sale, they will only hear the first 45 seconds of the song. Once they have purchased a song, they will be able to hear the full-length audio. This is to help protect your songs from being ripped off our site. Full length tracks can only be previewed when they are offered for free by the artist.

Ringtones - Same as song recommendations. The first 45 seconds of a song is made into the ringtone.

Download Pricing - We are very proud of the fact that MadeLoud Artists set the price for their own music. While the going rate for music these days has been set at $0.99, this does not mean you have to stick with this number. Though, since most of us indie fans are dirt cheap, it's probably best to stick around there or lower.

All MadeLoud Artists make 80% off of every download sale. There are no premium accounts to buy to get this rate. When artists choose to use their promo codes and discounts, the same applies; that is MadeLoud does not charge a set fee per download.

Merch Pricing - Same thing here; pricing is up to the musician. Charge what you think is fair, what you think your fans are willing to pay and, most importantly, what they can afford. MadeLoud artists make 85% or every merch sale in their store account.

Merch Listing Fees - We charge a one-time $5 listing fee for merch items that are offered for sale over $5. Anything under $5, like stickers and buttons, are free to list.

Always refer back to our Terms of Use and read over our Offensive Material Policy, if you have any questions regarding what you can and cannot sell in your store account.
