Jock Jams, the worst of the worst.

Does anyone even remember Jock Jams?! I do, hearing that stuff blaring at school pep rallies and football games. I'm not sure what is worse. Was it the fact that they brought a bunch of old songs back from the grave and made a mix, or the fact that it died and no one really cared? Either way, I think we can all agree that it was a good thing Jock Jams was put to rest, thanks ESPN.

The first Jock Jams album was released in 1995 with a whole bunch of early 90s hits like, Get Ready for This by 2 Unlimited and Whoomp! (There It Is) by Tag Team. With songs like this, how could you not want to make another 5 volumes of this stuff?! Sign me up! The Jock Jams, Volume 1 ONLY made it to a peak position of 30 on the carts, go figure. They proceeded to make volumes 2-5, one a year after that with volume 2 as reaching a peak of 10 on the carts (highest of all 6 volumes) in 1996.

I've been looking to see why Jock Jams ate the big one after it's, "The All-Star Jock Jams" volume but apparently it's not even good enough to get it's own page on Wikipedia. On that note, I'll leave you with some songs you swore you would never listen to again...

I am not ashamed to admit my all-time favorite Jock Jam is "Jellyhead" by Crush. Great memories, but also a great hook:
