Wooden Tears
I walked into a church one Sunday morning
I saw a carving of Jesus nailed to a cross
And I thought man the pain he must have gone through
And how mere men like me couldn't have paid the cost
Then it hit me were not men at all
Were God's children sometimes scared and lost
And God's the only way we can overcome our fears
I could fear in my weary heart when I saw those wooden tears
Now I want to help him get his message through
But I'm just a sinner what on earth can I do
So Jesus I pray you'll hear me somehow
Open hearted and on my knees Lord come comfort me now
Chrs:
I want to walk the straight and narrow down this winding road
I want to do everything God's will has planned for me
I want to help my fellow man lighten up his load
After all ain't that what it's all about
Why Jesus died for us there is no doubt
It was to set us free
