A Friend At Christmas

1: I was feeling low the Christmas season was here
Needing presents for my kids with no money to spare
I turned to my friend with a tear in my eye
How can life suddenly change, I just want to know why?

2: He drank from his coffee and gave me a look of sincere
Rose up from his chair and he disappeared
Awhile passed on and he pulled back up the drive
He came through the door dragging something behind

Chrs:

He said, “ I don't have the answers that you are looking for
but here is this Christmas tree that I dragged through the door
so let's put up the tree friend and pull the lights from the box
we'll wrap it all up with decorations and stuff”

3: I turned to my friend, my smile began to grow
By getting this Christmas tree, how did you know?
He said, “ Christmas time is for giving and life gets better not worse
all I can say to friend is just let life take it's course”
