The Boy Who'll Always Be

I was born in a small town it wasn't even listed on the map back then
Grew up in the country and believed it all people said they wanted to be my friend
I found out it wasn't always the truth the devil has many different faces you know
He'll lie and steal and take it all from you he follows around every place you go

Yet there is one thing that he will never get
that's the love that I have for a friend like you
I still cherish the day we met
Your the reason behind everything that I do

When you were on the playground trying to get away
From a boy who was madly in love with the thought of being in love with you
I'm still in love with the girl with the long brown hair
The girl who said I was picking on her everywhere
people told you that I was nothing but bad news it's true whoa whao
But I'm still the boy who'll always be in love with you

Fifteen years later and a couple of kids
I still look at you like it was yesterday
Times are tough and there is no money hid
In some old mattress been long put away

We'll make it just fine and the kids will too
He will never take away what I feel for you
The devil cant win yet he surely tries
My love will never fade even in these times
