Biography:

Yeah, you know who Chris Brown is, you grinded with Clipse. Timbaland changed the sound of hip hop (not to forget the twist he so effortlessly spun into R&B), and Pharell made skating cool for the hip hop culture. These talented artists and producers introduced a variety of skills unheard of from Virginia. They all have one thing in commen though- they all hail from the northern part of the state.

So let's travel down I81 to the southwestern region of VA where you will run into the New River Valley, home of Virginia Tech and Radford University. NRV is also the birthplace of a sub-genre of hip hop dubbed "Real-Hop", in which this uprising 27 year old artist is prominent. Skarz, a NRV native, began his musical journey at a the young age of fifteen. In 2001, at the age of nineteen, he linked up with the independent new record label S.I.N.F.U.L. Ent. based in Pulaski, Va and founded by Billy the Kid, also a NRV native. This is where Skarz discovered his production abilities. Around 2002, Skarz parted with his S.I.N.F.U.L. Ent. foundation to find his own way in the world of hip hop, and has since worked with many artists from and around the southwestern regions of VA.

Today, Skarz is working on his upcoming debut album scheduled for release in September of 2009. He has collaborated with his former label mates from S.I.N.F.U.L. Ent. and various other artists on mixtape projects, and is the founder of Trump Card Productions. This promising young artist/producer is sure to put a bright spotlight on southwestern VA, and build a gateway for all the talented artists, producers,and bands from southwest VA!
