Two of the Best Indie Rock Venues in Fort Worth, Texas
Submitted by Philmoregenius on Tue, 12/23/2008 - 19:42.There has always been a rivalry between Fort Worth and Dallas and although I’m a bigger fan of Dallas, Fort Worth people definitely are more laid back. These two venues are ok in my book. I’ve been to them many times.
1. The Aardvark - “Ft. Worth, Texas' premier Live music Venue,” The Aardvark has featured local bands and some local gone national such as: Bowling for Soup, Bob Schneider, Flickerstick, Grand Street Cryers, Cory Morrow, The Nixons, Blue October, The Scabs, Cowboy Mouth, Riverboat Gamblers, Hurt Street Vallejo,Cracker, Mingo Fishtrap, Tripping Daisy, Zac Malloy, The Feds, Centromatic, Mermaids Purse, Space Cadet, Chomsky, Doosu, Deathray Davies, Frolic, Chemistry Set, Larry, Sugarbomb, Pimpadelic, Edgewater, Neverset, Push Monkey. Mostly a TCU crowd, this indie venue is right by the Fuzzy Taco for a late night post show snack.

2. The Flying Saucer – Located in the heart of Sundance Square, The Flying Saucer offers its best bands a monthly rotation playing in an enclosed patio with a small stage. This Fort Worth indie venue has a back great for acoustic and electric acoustic rock. The stage is big enough for a full band, but would be too small if you have a lot of groupies or your band is The Polyphonic Spree. Nonetheless, once you are in here, others will soon follow.
