In August of 2008, we got the unfortunate news that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was a huge shock to us, but obviously more to my mom. I was so angry and mad at everything and everyone. But through the scriptures that I was reading in the bible that pointing fingers would not solve this matter.

Instead we turned to our Lord Jesus Christ. Two days after she told us, I was so bothered by this so I did what I did best; I sat at the keyboard and wrote this song. The title I Would Die Living came to me quickly. I usually have to think of a title, but this came immediately. As a writer I have to put myself in someone else’s position.

So I started to think of all of what my mom was thinking and what her thoughts might be, would she give up or continue to go on living? Would she let this cancer run her life? Those were the questions and thoughts that ran through my mind when writing this song.

I Would Die Living was the result to those questions and I loved the way the song turned out. I decided to use bells and choir, as if this song was coming from heaven and letting the music and words heal the person who was listening to this song. This song was written for my mother, whom I LOVE very much! Mom, this song is for you!!! :o)
