If I had a dime
For every time
I said that I was unsatisfied
It’d just be me alone on this mountainside of dimes.
Oh, what to buy?
Between the two, I can’t decide.
I could have them both but I wouldn’t have my dimes.

I have a book
Secrets filling every line.
I’d like to take the blame but none of them are mine.
This one’s free.
You can take it, I won’t tell.
I’ve got a million more just like it on my shelf.
And when I clear some room I might write one myself.

All I want is you but not you one that doesn’t say the things that hurt so bad.
That’s too bad.
If I had my turn I’m sure we’d make it work and then we wouldn’t hurt so bad.
But I’m still mad so I take it back.

In this old town
It’s good to see you’re slowing down.
The way it pulls us in and turns us all around.
Things aren’t worse
Than through the lenses of research.
The way the skyline shines is really a disguise.
If you don’t like the view you can always close your eyes.
