Funk Artists
Evolving out of the rhythm and blues discourse, funk brought a bass-heavy, dance-ready sound to the genre, frequently rounded out by a hard horn groove and a variety of other instruments from guitar to synthesizer. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic have made a career out of exploring funk, as just one notable example.
