You left your mansions in heaven,
You left your streets of pure gold,
And you took on a body like ours, Lord,
And you walked with the sinners on earth

It's not easy to live on the earth, Lord,
It's not easy to live a good life,
And I make so many mistakes, dear Lord,
But you know and you died for my sins,

Sometimes as I'm living down hear Lord,
My way seems so rough and so steep,
And I look all around me for help Lord,
But there's no one my soul who can keep

When i'm hurting and I need refreshment,
Lord there's noone to go to like you,
And you give me a cool drink of water,
And you heal all my wonds just like new
