Biography:

Nothing Gold Can Stay consists solely of one person. Angelica is an acoustic solo artist from Southern California. June 2007 was when she first realized the musical talents God had given her.

As a guitarist just looking for new things to learn, more challenging vocals, and other things to write about, Angelica Abalos has recently exploded into the musician she is today. One minute, she's teaching herself how to play an instrument and the next minute she's writing songs. She lives, breathes and dreams about music. Music is a big part of her life and she's mixed her love of music to be able to speak of the God she lives for. She also hopes to relate with others as she pours out her feelings into each song.

Angelica started out on her church's worship team, shy and not confident. But with a push from a few of her friends, she started to work harder and challenge herself with the guitar and vocals. Since then, she has been playing and writing her own music. It is amazing to see where Angelica was when she first started out compared to far she has gotten and how much she has accomplished.

Angelica's song writing started out as mere poetry in a notebook, but when she picked up a guitar, songs flowed out of her as if she had been writing for years. Lyrics are always running through her mind, sometimes even keeping her up until she writes them down. And once she starts writing, she just can't stop.

With her passion for Jesus and her love for music, Angelica hopes to inspire people with songs of hope as well as opening their eyes to see what is going on in the world. She wants to show people that they are not alone and that there is a God that can bring comfort, peace and hope. She may not be able to speak the Gospel by just talking to someone, but it can come out easily through her music.

Angelica's mind is set to inspire people through her songs. And she plays for the love of music, not just to be famous because she knows that those things are only temporary in this life. That is where the name "Nothing Gold Can Stay" comes in.

"Nothing Gold Can Stay" is not just Angelica's favorite poem. It is a phrase that continues to remind her that no matter how far she gets with her music, the only thing that will stay the same is the God that brought her there. Money and bright lights will fade away - nothing gold can stay.
