Listening to Amy Heffernan's debut, self-titled EP, the theme of regret and resignation seem to crop up as the dominant emotional moods of the album - something you might not expect from mostly up-tempo, singer-songwriter material steeped in a little alternative rock here, a little tug of Melissa Etheridge there.
The EP even begins with a downer - the lyrics "Had my doubts it would ever work out...
