Sara Groban Has a Big Name, Bigger Songs

"Groban...Groban..." you might be thinking. "That name sounds familiar...oh well!" And then you eat a Kit Kat because why not. But wait! Sara Groban does, in fact, share a lineage with the world-famous Josh Groban. They are cousins.

You know Josh Groban! He had a good bit part on The Office not that long ago, and people love his voice.

But we're not talking about Josh now, we're talking about Sara. Ms. Groban's debut EP is entitled Noise in the Attic. Describing it, her page says it's "a compilation of songs that represent snippets of her life whether they be melancholy or joyous...". Here's the lead-off single, "Lighting Bolt."

It's a song that's notably faster-moving and more rock-oriented than her cousin's music, but it's not like there's any special rule that says you have to sound like your famous family members. The song is thankfully a little under-produced, and has enough sound via a full band and Groban's voice without sounding overdone or too radio ready. The catchy chorus is also going to stick with you after a few listens.
